Completion in March 2013 of the 44 apartment Saltus complex has provided an uncommon Auckland residential housing choice: high specification apartment living on the city fringe. The five-level building is situated at the eastern edge of the Stonefields development and furthers the new suburb’s variety of house and apartment options.
The 44 apartments include two bedroom, two bedroom plus study, three bedroom and three bedroom plus study configurations. The building’s structure is formed by reinforced concrete foundations, columns, and beams, with poured in-situ concrete floors. External features include zinc cladding and patterned and honed concrete wall panels, with a finish that is comparable to that of a modern commercial build. The building contains five levels of apartments, a ground floor podium courtyard, and an underground basement carpark.
The apartments are fitted out with modern and high specification fixtures and appliances. Each apartment contains built-in wardrobes, separate laundry, a full-height storage locker, a private terrace accessed from the living area, designer kitchens with induction cooktops, and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
A fully-equipped gymnasium has been constructed overlooking the podium courtyard that is available 24/7 for the owners’ exclusive use.
